Fort Myers Impact Windows is a Fort Myers installer that does one thing: hurricane-rated windows and doors for houses, villas and condos in Lee County. We don't do roofs, kitchens or pool cages. Keeping to one trade means our people measure, permit and anchor impact products every working day, and the small details that decide whether a window performs in a storm are habits rather than things to look up.
Why only windows and doors
Openings are where houses fail first. When a window or slider breaks during a storm, wind pushes into the house and lifts on the roof from inside; the damage that follows usually costs far more than the glass. We decided early that getting openings right was enough work for one company, and that a homeowner is better served by someone who knows the product approvals, the anchor schedules and the inspectors than by someone installing windows between other jobs.
It also keeps our quotes honest. We have nothing else to sell you, so there is no reason to bundle in work you did not ask for.
A father-and-son company
This is a family business. A father and his son run it together, and both learned the trade on ladders and scaffolding, setting frames themselves, before they ever wrote a quote. That background shows up in the small calls on site: when a buck needs replacing rather than shimming, or when a slider track has to be reset so the door glides the way it should for the next twenty years.
Alongside the building contractor license, the company holds a Florida glass and glazing certification, a credential aimed specifically at the work of setting glass and storefront-style frames. We install impact products from several Florida manufacturers, including PGT, CGI and ES Windows, and Therma-Tru for impact entry doors, so we can match the product to the opening and the budget instead of pushing one brand.
If you are applying to the My Safe Florida Home program, we can provide the written quote and the product approval documents its inspectors and reviewers ask to see.
How we price a job
Every quote starts with a visit. We measure each opening, note the wall it sits in and how exposed that side of the house is, and check the condition of the frame and the wood buck behind it. From that we write an itemized price: each window and door on its own line, with frame, glass and rating, then the permit, stucco and drywall repair, and any old shutters to remove.
That written number is the price. If we find something during installation that nobody could have seen at the measure, such as rot inside a wall, we stop and show you before doing anything that would change the total.
The paperwork you keep
When the final inspection passes, you get a folder you will use for years: the closed permit, the Florida product approval for every unit, the installation instructions they were anchored to, and the warranty registrations. Wind mitigation inspectors ask for exactly these documents, and so does the buyer's inspector when you sell. Keeping them together saves you chasing them later.
Standards on installation day
- We protect floors and furniture inside each room before an old frame comes out.
- We never leave an opening covered only with plastic overnight. A room is finished or closed with its old unit before we leave.
- Anchors go in at the spacing and edge distance the approval specifies, into sound masonry or framing.
- Every joint is sealed inside and out, and every frame is checked for level, square and smooth operation before the inspector sees it.
- All old glass, aluminum and packaging leaves with us the same day.
Licensing, insurance and who answers the phone
Our Florida contractor license is CBC1268532, and it is printed on every quote and contract. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage and send certificates to any association that asks.
When you call (239) 420-9346 during business hours, you reach someone who can answer questions about your job, not an answering service that takes a message. Outside those hours, leave a message or send the form and we reply on the next business day.
Where we work
Most of our installs are in Fort Myers itself, from the older streets off McGregor Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue to newer communities along Daniels Parkway and Treeline. We also work across the rest of Lee County: Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Estero, Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs. If you are just over the county line, call and ask.
Questions people ask about us
Do you sell windows door to door after storms?
No. We don't knock on doors or canvass neighborhoods. Every job starts with the homeowner calling us or sending the form.
Who will be at my house?
An estimator for the measure, then our install crew on the days you agreed. Nobody arrives without a call first, and the crew lead's number is on your paperwork.
Do you subcontract the installation?
The installation crew is ours. Where a job needs something outside our trade, like electrical work behind a wall we open, we tell you before it is added to the quote.
